Donna Lynn - Landscape Designer, Santa Barbara CA
After an art school education in Boston, Mass where she majored in photography, Donna Lynn went on to pursue a short career as an editorial photographer, working first in NYC and later in Phoenix, AZ. During that period her photographs were published in Forbes and Arizona Trend magazines.
Donna's transition to landscape design came as an "on the job" learning experience under the benevolent and capable tutelage of Unity Services Landscaping - one of the most reputable design/build landscape firms in the greater Phoenix area. During her 10 yrs. as a partner in the business, she worked as a designer and project manager. Upon relocating to Santa Barbara, CA in 1997, Donna took a sabbatical and pursued a 2 year course of study of the particulars of California Landscape Design that included taking classes at UCLA, SBCC and the
Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, as well as doing extensive research on the thousands of plant species available to the Southern California landscape trade. She also became proficient at CAD drafting and landscape photo imaging.
Her projects include estate remodels, residential designs and plantscapes for Santa Barbara City Parks. Her landscape design has been chosen to receive the Goleta Valley Beautiful "Home of the Month" award and her work frequently airs on HGTV's Landscaper's Challenge. She is a member of the Santa Barbara Horticultural Society and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden.
